Day 3--Continuation
Photos of Day 3 construction right here. A late start but we still managed to put on another 3 courses, 2 courtesy of Jake's Superior Brick Co, and one course of Kate Delano's hand punched, artisan bricks (you go, girl!) that were great contenders. The warm weather made the snow perfect to work with and we didn't need to add any water. A good time was had by all, except maybe Reggie, who had to be tied up.
Delay Today!
Today, for the first time, we hate the February sun. Sam arrived early to rig up a sail for protection. Construction postponed to 4:30, closer to sundown. Sorry for any inconvenience!

Day 3--Seven Courses and Growing
HUGE PROGRESS! Put captions in all the photos so just check us out. Work time tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb 4, is scheduled from 2 to 7, in spite of the dread 37 degree forecast. Come if you can! This is moving along very quickly. (DANK-GA!) See all the Day 3 photos

Day 1--Snow Moon Rising
(Click on "Day 1" to go to a Picasa album link of photos)
The word was out; the troops trickled in. Geoffrey spent about 3 hours snowplowing the yard to create the quarry and at 4:00 Day 2 (photos here) commenced with Jake and Anne (strangers no more; now our best friends) pulled up outside ready to work. We worked until about 7:30, our numbers waxing--Jill, Amy and Mary Seaton, Sam and Nina, but mainly about 10 strong. And strong we were! Especially once our fearless leader, John Corr, stepped in to show how how to best mix the mortar. Jake proved to be a very skilled brick maker and he punched those bad boys out one after another until we had 3 courses completed. Good job! Thanks to Mary for the beer and Amy for the warm clothes. We are rolling....
Next session is tomorrow, 2/3, from 3 until 7.
